Job Description Advanced Practice Solutions is a healthcare employment agency that provides healthcare professionals with exceptional opportunities across the U.S. We are urgently seeking a RN to work a temporary assignment 40 hours a week at public health facility in St Paul Minnesota. Monday through Friday 8-4:30pm for at least the next 5 months. The registered nurse will work primarily in the TB Clinic providing direct care to patients diagnosed with latent tuberculosis infection and active tuberculosis disease. Duties would include processing patient referrals, conducting intake assessments and triaging patients, rooming patients and following physician orders, providing education on TB infection and treatment and dispensing medications, calling patients with lab results and follow up orders. The responsibilities of this role may change depending on programmatic needs and may also include: providing directly observed therapy, conducting home visits, community outreach, data reporting, and case management of latent TB patients. The ideal candidate will have had experience and/or passion in working in infectious disease and working with patients from underserved and diverse communities. Other duties are to assess, prescribe, perform and document independent nursing practices under the direction of a Public Health Nurse; to perform and document dependent functions such as carrying out the physician's medical orders; to assist physicians with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for a variety of patients; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, the patient's family, health professionals and important others; and perform related duties as assigned.
